Kite fighting and Kite instructions

Wind, waves, sand and sea make-up the location for our kite fights and kite instructions. Kiting is a phenomenon which has kept young and old busy, almost everybody has at some stage had a kite in their hands. The last couple of years has seen a technological revolution in kite construction and kite flying. New materials and kite designs have produced a range of kites to suit many levels, from the beginner to the kite surfer. The aerodynamic improvements and new control systems make today’s kites very flexible and powerful. It is quite a challenge to master such kites. The more experienced kite flyers are able to make enormous leaps, use kite-cars to race up and down the beach and the latest sport is kite-surfing. The flexibility of today’s kites makes it possible for everybody to rediscover the thrill of kiting.

Kite fight competition In certain parts of Asia kiting is a serious sport. Kite fighting is amongst the favourite. Knock out your competitor by literally flying him/her out of the sky. With special mono-line kites we offer you the chance to participate in a kite-fight competition. Discuss aerial fight tactics with your team mates and may the best team win. The person/group who’s kite remains flying is the eventual winner. All participants will receive their own fight-kite.

After this warming-up session we will begin with the serious kites.

Kiting Nasawings, skyscooters, safetyflares are some of the kite terms you will become familiar with. Our instructors will “show you the ropes” as it were. It may take you a little while to get the hang of it but you will be amazed by the power and flexibility of the larger kites. Conditions permitting, experienced kiters can utilise the power of the kites to make enormous jumps.
